Sr. Staff Optical / Mfg Eng'r

Job Description and Responsibilities: Maintain and enhance capabilities of Salem's manufacturing and R&D database.  Participate in establishing a strategic plan for database software/hardware support and robustness.   Provide manufacturing engineering leadership in multiple fiberoptic component production areas to: Transfer new processes from R&D to manufacturing Support ongoing yield improvements Strengthen preventative maintenance and calibration programs Maintain up to date process documentation   Provide technical leadership in the areas of: Optics Lasers Fiberoptic measurements Computers / bar coding / printers Quality statistics LabVIEW Education and Work Experience: o Advanced degreerequired in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Optics and at least 10 years experience in one of these fields. o In-depth technical understanding in the several of the following areas:      o Optics      o Fiberoptic coupling and splicing          o Lasers      o Fiberoptic Polishing      o Advanced Fiberoptic Measurements      o SQL database programming      o Manufacturing Execution Systems      o LabView programming, especially for automated data capture to database o Engineering experience in optical-based or medical device manufacturing environment. o Experience with FDA qualified product is preferred. o Technical knowledge of optical fiber and fiber assemblies required. o Experience in the manufacturing or development of fiberoptic assemblies is preferred. o Advanced computer skills - Oracle, Agile, SQL, Linux, LabView, MS Office We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
