Job Description:
As a Unix Systems Engineer you will be responsible for supporting Hewlett Packard Superdomes and Hewlett Packard Blade server infrastructure. Additionally you will have responsibilities managing the Oracle Exadata Database machines operating environment. The position will include on-call duties to provide technical production support for two (2) enterprise class data center environments.
Key
Responsibilities:
Participate in day-to-day administrative tasks and performance management of system resources.
Support large scale data center processes and procedures reflecting best practices and company policies.
Frequently anticipates problems and analyzes ways to mitigate the risk
Articulates the business value and impact of advanced technical and non-technical information and understands when to escalate issues
Provides effective production support in a 24x7 environment with on call rotation
Documents small-to medium-scale projects and delivers presentations with minimal supervision
Dissects complex situations and refocuses on critical technology tasks
Must have a high degree of technical expertise/professional mastery to recommend process improvements
Is often consulted by peers and seen as the informal leader on tactical problems

Basic
Qualifications:
Ability to work Monday thru Friday 4pm - Midnight.
Minimum of 5 years of current experience with HP-UX System Administration
Minimum of 3 years experience with HP blade solutions BL860c i2 and BL860 i4
Minimum of 3 years experience installing HP-UX OS software, applications and software patches
Minimum of 3 years experience configuring HP-UX kernel drivers and tunable parameters
Minimum of 3 years of current experience in an enterprise level data center supporting at least 50 machines.
Preferred Skills:
Demonstrated progression of skill sets and additional responsibilities
Strong diagnostic and trouble-shooting skills
Understanding of Symantec NetBackup product
Experience with HP Service Guard software solution
Knowledge of Workload monitoring solution BMC Control M
Strong knowledge of NAS and SAN concepts
Ability to multi-task/prioritize tasks and projects concurrently
Understanding and working background in 7x24 production environments on-call requirements
Strong communication skills
