Mechanical CAD Designer (Entry-level)POSITION
Summary:
We are looking for an entry-level Mechanical CAD Designer to work and grow with our small but dynamic Engineering Staff.
This part-time, non-exempt position will be located at our Salem, NH facility.
Responsibilities:
Create parts and assemblies using the latest version of SolidWorks CAD.
Experience with SolidWorks or other similar CAD programs.
Work under engineering supervision and direction to maintain legacy products and help bring new products from concept to production.
Work from simple ideas and basic sketches, to complex files and instructions within industry electronics packaging standards (FCC, CUL, TUV, ATX, EMI, EIA, etc).
Generate detail drawings per internal standards (based on ASME Y14.
5, GD&T).
Quickly model basic concepts to prove viability and possible customer options and produce eDrawings and files (STEP, PDF, JPG, DXF, etc.
) for review.
Multi-task efficiently between several projects while maintaining attention to detail.
Note issues, provide support, and respond to feedback/comments to make sure project, department, and company objectives are met.
EDUCATION, REQUIREMENTS, AND
Experience:
AS degree in engineering or equivalent experience in computer related product design.
1-3 year's experience using SolidWorks CAD to create engineering and fabrication files and drawings, including CAD file management, revision changes, specifications, part numbers and BOM creation.
Knowledge of design specifications and manufacturing processes including DFA/DFM, sheet metal, pcb mechanical outlines, machining operations, and mechanical hardware.
Ability to conduct basic tolerance studies.
Have basic understanding of finishing processes including plating and painting, as well as shipping packaging.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
